The Global Reach of HML: We Service Lifts Around The World

Servicing Yacht Lifts Across Multiple Countries

Servicing yacht lifts across international waters presents unique logistical challenges. Our technicians travel to locations spanning Florida, Italy, France, Spain, and beyond, ensuring lifts remain fully operational for superyachts and working vessels alike. Each visit requires careful planning, including flights, visas, accommodations, and spare parts. All of these elements are carefully coordinated to ensure efficiency and minimise unnecessary downtime. In some cases, a part needs to be sourced locally or shipped internationally, which demands flexibility and fast problem-solving to minimise downtime.

Our global service model is designed to keep lifts running smoothly, whether for passenger lifts, dumbwaiters, or cargo lifts. Technicians perform fine-tuning, replace key components like door rollers, air filters, and hydraulic filters, and ensure controllers are correctly adjusted. While repairs are generally not urgent due to limited lift use, proactive maintenance is critical to guarantee the safety and comfort of superyacht personnel.

Optimising Technician Travel For Marine Lift Inspections

We optimise technical travel strategically within yacht hubs. When multiple vessels are in the same region, service visits are coordinated to maximise efficiency. The goal is to send the right technician for the specific lift type, ensuring that inspections, adjustments, and replacements are completed correctly in a single visit. Every detail, from spare parts delivery to arranging flights and hotels, is meticulously managed by our service coordinators.

Why We Delay Annual Lift Inspections Until The Mediterranean

Sometimes it makes sense for us to delay inspections until vessels reach the Mediterranean. This is often a practical decision: sending a technician to Australia or Singapore for a single day’s work would take the engineer out of commission for over a week, including travel and adjustment time.

Extending Certifications For Passenger Lift Inspections

Our certification extension process is designed to provide flexibility for yacht schedules while maintaining lift safety standards. Certificates, although not legally mandated, serve as our assurance that lifts have been properly maintained and are safe for use. If owners decline a visit, the existing certificate may lapse, but our technicians will always remain available for remote guidance and support. Certificates are typically valid for 12 months and may be extended up to 18 months under special circumstances. During these extensions, we always monitor the vessel’s maintenance history, previously noted spare part replacements, and any operational issues highlighted by the chief engineer.

Our inspection protocol balances efficiency with thoroughness. Technicians focus on recurring maintenance tasks and address only the parts that need replacing based on previous inspection. This ensures the lift remains fully functional without unnecessary delays or over-servicing.

Our engineers maintain strong relationships with the Chief Engineers on board, allowing for smooth scheduling and real-time guidance when problems arise. The combination of skilled technicians, meticulous planning, and strategic coordination allows us to maintain the highest standards of lift safety and functionality, anywhere in the world.

Our global lift service ensures that yacht lifts, whether passenger, dumbwaiter, or cargo, remain safe, reliable, and aesthetically aligned with each vessel. By optimising technician travel, coordinating multiple vessel visits, and providing flexible certification extensions, we deliver consistent, high-quality service to yachts across the globe. From routine maintenance to fine-tuning custom lift designs, we remain the trusted partner for marine lift expertise worldwide.
