HEEREMA DCV THIALF

DCV THIALF SPECIFICATION

Thialf, the largest deepwater construction vessel (DCV) of Heerema Marine Constructors, is capable of a tandem lift of 14,200 t (15,600 short tons). Its two cranes provide for a depth reach lowering capability as well as a heavy lift capacity to install topsides. This multi-functional dynamic positioned DCV is customized for the installation of foundations, moorings, SPARs, TLPs, and integrated topsides, as well as pipelines and flowlines.

CREW LIFTS MODERNISATION

HML has modernised the 4 crew lifts which are positioned in the accomodation of the vessel.

The modernisation involved per lift:
– a new traction drive
– new lift controller
– new steel wire ropes
– new operation panels in side the car and at the landings.

HML COLUMN LIFTS

HML was awarded by HMC to replace the two old rack and pinion column lifts by modern, safe and quiet traction lifts.

The design of the two lifts has been approved by LRS.

The replacement of the first lift was done by HML engineers offshore on board of Thialf during the trip from Rotterdam to the Gulf of Mexico.
The second lift will be replaced early 2016.
